No Fanboy Left Behind: Miyamoto Soothes Hardcore Gamers
When Nintendo launched the Wii, many of the hardcore enthusiast press were left shaking their collective head. Months went by and there were few reasons for the traditional Nintendo fan to invest in the console. Even now that we have gotten our hands on Zelda: Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy, many are wondering if they are even on Nintendo’s radar anymore.
In swoops Mr. Nintendo, Shigeru Miyamoto, fresh off the release of Wii Music, to set the record straight. When asked if he had forgotten about the hardcore Nintendo fans, Miyamoto had this to say:
| Quote: | “…for 30 years now I’ve been making games and for the vast majority of time I’ve been making the type of games that the loyal Nintendo fans enjoy. Those are the types of games that my career is based on and we’re going to continue to make those types of games. In fact, we have many of those types of games in development right now,” — Shigeru Miyamoto

Well it is good to know there are things coming, but I am an instant gratification kind of guy. What can you do for me NOW Nintendo? I guess I will have to settle for another trailer for Punch-Out…
There is always next summer, right?

Or maybe it is true? What I mean is, Nintendo has made The Conduit which was a surprise to me and as far as I know, it is going to be very good. Hopefully, it is a sign of things to come

That isn't very convincing, but I guess it gives us a bit of hope.

I second that.
I think Nintendo are just focusing on the other demographic for this period of time. After all, we know that in the future we are going to get the Gamecube remakes with motion controls, The Conduit, and a new Zelda and Mario game (Miyamoto did let slip at E3 that these were in development). I think a New Super Mario Bros sequel is in development as well.

A Super Mario Bros. sequel sounds nice right about now.
