I was thinking that this would lead to more hacking of the system like what happened to the wii..

Probably yes. The SD card obviously should make it more accessible to hack, and since the DSi has a lot more RAM than its sister consoles there's no need for a GBA flash cart for hacking. There is one obstacle though - the DSi is going to have firmware updates, just like the Wii.
As for the console overall, I really don't see myself spending £150 for a seven and a half generation console, as I like to label it. Even with new features such as channels, two rubbish cameras and DSWare.

The DSi looks to be a much better PSP competitor, as if it was not already. The amount of features is quite astounding and I am looking to purchase one soon.
