Analyst: No New Consoles Until 2013 Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter believes that we will not enter the next console generation until 2013. Investors are getting a bit worried as video game software sales seem to have peaked for the current generation. I don't think they have, but when compared to last year, sales are down in 2009. Disagree with the article. Companies are so desperate to milk everything they can get from their products, it probably won't be long before a new console is released every year. I'm not kidding.
Or maybe soon enough it will be 1984 all over again, and the whole industry will crash. Who knows. |

Agreed. That's what a lot of analysts believe is the case any how since the economy is in such a bad shape some fear that it won't ever come back from the recession that we've gotten ourselves into. So why should the consoles companies release a new console when people can't really afford to buy it. I mean the price point for the Wii & PS3 was just crazy I'd hate to think what the price point for the Wii2 or a PS4 would be.  I don't even want to think about it. -_-"
