In Canada I am what you would call a red tory (basically a republican with democrat views). I have no problem with people being gay and I believe people should have the choice to get abortions. This election I think that John McCain will win, but I want Barrack Obama to win.

Well this is going to take a bit to explain. Canada is divided into 308 electoral districts. Each district elects someone to represent them in the House of Commons. Each elected person gets a seat in the House of Commons and gets to vote. In the house of commons things like laws and budgets are formed, and all the representatives vote on these things.
In order for a certain political party to win they must have more seats then all the other parties. Each party elects a leader and the leader of the party with the most seats becomes the prime minister. Each party has to run a different person in each district. If one party has more then 50% of the seats in the House of Commons or 155 or more, they form a majority government. So all the laws that party presents basically pass because everyone in that party will most likely vote for it. However sometimes the party with the most seats has less then 50% of the seats. They form a minority government. While they still have more seats then any other party, they have a harder time passing laws because they have to try and convince other parties to vote on their laws.
Currently Canada has a minority Conservative Government and we have 5 different parties with seats in the House of Commons, but we are having a general election on Oct. 14.
I think this system is more democratic because each region of the country is represented.

I should be... ;-)
No, but for real, both candidates are not very good and I wonder how the U.S.A. picked them two to be the choices out of everyone in the United States...
