Rumor: Double USB hard drive coming to the Wii? |
|
QJ.net writes, "The hard drive is supposed to mount on the back of the Wii, and designed to look like a natural part of the console. A firmware upgrade will be required to use it. Furthermore, everything you buy from the Wii Shop Channel can be transferred unto the hard drive, no problem. The HD will be available in 32 GB and 64 GB models."

The Wii has 512MB of internal memory right? If so, I could probably fit all of the virtual console games onto the 64GB if it is made, considering that a good amount of the games do not use much space.

I'm sceptical about this. Nintendo are already working on their, and I quote "storage solution" - a firmware update which will allow VC and WiiWare games to be transfered and run on an SD Card. Have they suddenly realised that they want to produce this as well? I'm going to wait until Nintendo themselves confirm this one.

I must agree with you on this. I actually forgot about the new storage update so it now seems very unlikely that Nintendo is working on this yet.

Either way, Nintendo should release a new disk-space upgrade as a new product and thus make more money AND please the customers
